Welcome to the Community!

Hey!! Look who's scrolled down to check the welcome text. I'll give a short welcome to you guys, and a couple of 'thank you' s for whatever button you clicked to have ended up here in this little blog of mine. It's nothing professional, but it surely is special! Not for you maybe, but just for your information I've wasted precious time just to make the blog appear decent and pretty in my opinion - not to mention all of the posts you see here! So don't judge before you actually look into things!
I've added a couple of pages just to organize all the things I have in this blog so that you guys have a better time of searching things up rather than having every post of different topics all jumbled up in one single home page.
Yeah, I think I'm done with my welcome text. Without further ado, welcome to my little blog of thoughts.

*You really didn't need to finish everything to start reading stuff here, but I appreciate it if you have. :)

Lauren Kate News: New Book?

Hey there guys! So it seems like I received the news a little late. I checked Lauren Kate's blog yesterday, and guess what I found - she's releasing a new book! Yay!

Now. What is this book that's got some people so incredibly excited? You may have guessed it (or know it for a fact), it's a book from a Fallen character, wait for it...

Cameron Briel! Cam! The Bad Boy!

I'm not sure how you are responding to this, but personally, I would've been more excited (and fangirly) if it were from Daniel Grigori's POV. But alas, some dreams don't come true.
However, let's still appreciate the fact that at least a new Fallen-related book is being released. Or you might be excited already at the sound of Cam's name? Well, that's for you to decide, but here's the official Lauren Kate announcement!

Cam Confirmed: It’s happening…

I never stopped thinking about him.
I loved Cameron Briel from the moment Luce discovered him at Sword and Cross. I never doubted that Luce should end up with Daniel—in part because that left Cam for me, and for the many readers who fell for him as well.
Over the past few years, you have asked me: What happened to Cam?
A part of me must have always known I would return to my most enigmatic character. I think you knew it, too. This story is for you.
Unforgiven begins the moment Cam disappears from Rapture. It takes us deep into his heart. It reacquaints him with a love he has long been trying to forget.
Unforgiven is a rock and roll story, a second-chances story, the villain’s side of the story (the villain’s always the hero of another tale)—and above all, a testament to the powerful experiment of love.
I’m nearly finished writing it and can’t wait to share it with you. Stay tuned for details on the cover and release date.
In honor of this exciting announcement, check out this limited time buy-one-get-one steal at my store. And don’t forget to sign up to be a superfan!
Love,
Lauren
If you wanna check out the actual thing, here's the link: http://laurenkatebooks.net/?p=2832
Oh and, we'll just have to wait for the cover reveal of Unforgiven now!

I'll leave you with a beautiful Fallen quote:

"I'll always choose you." Yes that was the word. "Every single lifetime, I'll choose you. Just as you have always chosen me. Forever."

See ya in the next post!

Book Talk: Rapture

I posted a book review on Goodreads, Yay! Either go check it out there if you prefer Goodreads, or continue reading below! I used gifs this time, yay me! (London Tipton, anyone?)

This book has got to have one of the most bittersweet endings I have ever read. And that makes my emotions contradict each other. (Lauren Kate, why u do this?!?!) I don't even know if I want to cry or to smile. I have a hundred reasons to say that the ending ruined Luce and Daniel's lives, but also a hundred more to say that it's the perfect conclusion to this beautiful series. I couldn't think of a better way to say goodbye to my one of my favourite fictional couples.

Now, time for some actual book talk.
“Mortality is the most romantic story ever told. Just one chance to do everything you should. Then, magically, you move on.”
When both of them chose to live mortal lives together, I was just like. WHAT.

Losing immortality and all those angel superpowers are only part of the reason why I was so against them choosing to live mortal lives. What about their memories together? All those times they've found each other again and again in each lifetime - gone. They're all the same old tale of them falling for each other, but they're also individual pieces of their love for each other. Their love never would've grown this strong without those memories. Remember how easily Luce was swayed when another guy came into view? Daniel never was. Because he had the memories. He remembered every single thing they did together. Every precious moment. But Luce? She only felt the attraction that was the 'curse' that was brought unto them when Daniel chose her instead of a side. It wasn't love. Love isn't just a feeling or emotion, but the desire to protect that person you love even when it means giving up your own life. And that isn't something you would feel for a stranger.

Luce got all of their memories back, she found out more about their love, and it was finally complete. But they chose to give it all up.

Although... considering the circumstances and the limited options that they have, I would have to agree that they made the best choice that was possible. At least they still get a chance to start anew and relive their love. The catch though: ONE life. ONE chance to find each other. If they don't meet, then that's that. They gave up everything for nothing. But oh Daniel...
"I'm afraid," she whispered.
"What did I tell you?"
She sifted through the million exchanges she and Daniel had ever shared-the good, the sad, the ugly. One rose above the clouds of her mind.
She was shaking. "That you will always find me."
"Yes. Always. No matter what."
"Daniel-"
"I can't wait to make you the love of my mortal life."
"But you won't know me. You won't remember. Everything will be different."
He wiped away her tear with his thumb. "And you think that will stop me?"
She closed her eyes. "I love you too much to say goodbye."
"It isn't goodbye." He gave her one last angelic kiss and embraced her so tightly she could hear his steady heartbeat, overlapping her own. "It's until we meet again.”
And then, there's the final sentence of the series. Final. Sentence. (in case you didn't get that the first time) It's so beautiful, and so sad.
“Luce and Daniel fell in love for the first- and the last- time”

If this isn't enough torture for you, I'll tell you that I legit cried for 2 days straight. With an additional of random teary moments whenever I remember Luce and Daniel out of the blue.

Lauren Kate, you destroy me.

But, exciting news is, the Fallen movie is going to come out very soon, and I can't wait to experience Fallen all over again! And I won't regret crying over it again and again. It's too beautiful.

The Selection Movie

What? That's right, you're not dreaming, Warner Bros has officially purchased the film rights to Kiera Cass' The Selection, and I'll leave the official article speak for itself:

Warner Bros has won film rights to Kiera Cass’ global bestseller The Selection, the first of a five-novel series, and has set Black List scribe Katie Lovejoy to adapt it. DiNovi Pictures’ Denise DiNovi and Alison Greenspan are producing with Pouya Shahbazian. Lovejoy’s script The Arsonist Love Story made the 2010 Black List.

The book has sold 3.5 million copies worldwide, and two other volumes have been published. HarperTeen just made a two-book deal to continue the series, which is published in 32 languages. Described as The Hunger Games without the bloodshed, it follows 35 underprivileged girls who are chosen to compete to live in a life of luxury. The protagonist, America Singer, is sweet on a young man from her district, but when she’s exposed to the opulence of a royal life, she’s conflicted, even though a rebel uprising threatens the pampered.
As for Lovejoy, she recently developed a pilot for NBC, with Universal Television, Eva Longoria, and John Glenn producing. She previously wrote pilots for NBC, Bravo, and ABC and worked on the staff of the NBC series Dracula. She is repped by CAA and Myman Greenspan. Cass is repped by Red Tree Literary and New Leaf Literary & Media. Andy Fischel and Julia Spiro are overseeing for Warner Bros.

Now do you believe me?

The Selection Movie is finally happening! And I do hope that this one won't get cancelled like the last one. Yeah, the last one was a failed TV series pilot. Wait, make that two failed pilots. I think it's still available on Hulu or something, not sure, but you could try checking it out on YouTube too, I think. Although disappointed, I was pretty glad that the TV series didn't happen, because it was: HORRIBLE.
Who would make Maxon sound like a rapist?! The Maxon in the pilot was everything the Maxon we know (and love) wasn't.
Then the second pilot, with a different actress playing as America this time, didn't even have red hair. Like, what? The red hair was America. So no ginger, no America.

Oh and, let me give you the failed pilot (clips of it, anyway):

There's also a leaked Selection script online, but it's too inappropriate to put up here, so, if you think you're mature enough to handle it, go ahead and search it up (?)

And that's that. Can't wait for the movie to finally come out!

The Heir Sneak Peek Review

I can't even. *takes a deep breath* Oh. My. Selection.

The Heir was released yesterday! EEEK! (I was literally shrieking and dancing around, go ask my sister) In the States. I'm not sure if it's already available where I live, but I'll go check out the bookstores just to be sure. And if you guys are as excited as I am, you probably have read the sneak peeks from www.unlocktheheir.com
You might know about it already, but if you didn't, be sure to go check it out, and get to read the first twelve chapters!

I have literally been waiting for this book to come out for a year now, right after I finished The One, or rather after they announced a fourth book was going to be released. And the fact that it is now here... YASSS!
I missed America and Maxon so, so, so, so, very much.
And when Eadlyn described how her dad was rubbing his temples and taking off his reading glasses, I was just like: Maxon... Time has gotten to him, poor Maxon.
And I was seriously waiting on my heels for her to mention something about her mom. America then came in, and I was just: This is like home.
I can't even describe how I feel about this book.
It's just like, I want to know how the story goes on, about America and Maxon, but I don't want to move on from them. Now the book's from Eadlyn's perspective, and I miss America's fiery words so much. Ugh.... and America and Maxon? They're just, I can't even. They're beautiful. And so in love. Especially when Eadlyn noticed how it seemed like in public, America's standing by Maxon and supporting him, but when they're not king and queen, just husband and wife, Maxon followed America around. And that is so cute. Seriously. I need more Maxerica. Is that even their ship name? Their names are too beautiful to be merged.

Now to Eadlyn. She's okay, and like, I get where she's coming from. Trained since the beginning to become the future queen and all that, I guess it should be in her right to be bratty, but her annoyingness just isn't as cute as America's was. Or am I biased right now? I don't even know. (OH and I forgot to mention about May! She's all grown up now by the way, and supermodel gorgeous, and a playgirl too.)

Back to the royal princess, if you guys have read the first twelve chapters, you'll see how her feelings change a lot. A little bipolar? I don't know how a person's perspective of someone could change so drastically in just a few minutes: completely hating them the before a "date", then completely swooning over them few seconds after. That is sick.
I don't know about you guys, but liking Eadlyn, for me, is gonna take a while.

Now I won't stop you guys from doing whatever research that you need to do on this new book, but seriously, go read it. Even if I didn't like the main character, I just had to know how America and Maxon are doing. Oh and, Eadlyn knows so little about her parents' love story, I had to fight off the urge to brag about what I know. I'm officially obsessed. But I'm not alone! So GO. NOW. Do whatever you can to support The Selection Series!

A new booktalk?

Hello fellow Internetians! Long time no (virtual) see!
I have been busy with plenty of schoolwork, and stuff. But this is not exactly a legit post, so. This is a kind-of announcement for a possible booktalk post next week, about... drum roll please... The Fifth Wave! And if you know about it, then you must know that I am severely outdated, because it was published in 2013, and I am reading it two whole years later. And I am embarrassed. Not embarrassed enough to post it online! (sorry.) So, I found out about this book while surfing (the net) and the movie news came out. And I was like, Aliens? Cool! Chloe Grace Moretz? Even cooler!
That was how I came into the world Cassie, and Ben, and Evan.
News is, I am still halfway through the book. So, you would have to wait until I'm finished first, then I could post something about it. And all that's in my mind right now is, Is Evan gonna die? He's not gonna die, right? Oh please don't let him die! I was also incredibly tempted to search up spoilers. But no. I'm not going to that. I'm a very very good girl, and I do not spoil things for myself, (takes a deep breath), okay.
So if you're reading this, and you think The Fifth Wave sounds pretty cool from the little snippets of thought I put up there, go ahead and read it! Then, you could fangirl with me later on, on my next post. Or, wait for the review to come out, read the non-spoiler section, then go ahead and make your choice.
It's completely up to you.
Well, that's enough for now, I guess. Goodbye. See you. In the next post. :)

Beastly: Book Review

Beastly is a book written by author Alex Flinn. The story centres around a teenage boy in high school who had a perfect life: perfect looks, money, and popular. One thing he lacked was humility. He had everything and he knew it; but instead of using it for good, he made sure others’ lives were a living hell. And that was what led into his downfall. He humiliated a girl in his class who turned out to be a witch; and she cursed him, taking away his perfect looks - his perfect life. His entire life was stolen away with one curse. But like every other curse, this comes with a cure. If he could find a girl that would love him even with his deformity, the curse would be broken. But also like any other curse, this was near impossible. The first thing he thought of was his girlfriend. She would break the curse, right? Sadly, what they had together was nothing close to true love. Through this curse, golden boy Kyle realises just how none of his friends were real friends. Picking up the pieces of what he had left, he starts to realise other parts of life he had never noticed before in his “perfect” state. With a new girl in his life, one whom he would never pay attention to if he were Kyle Kingsbury, he finds just how much love could do - even more than breaking a curse.

This story is beautifully written. Starting out with an online conversation between fairytale characters put in the real world, this introduces the story taking place in an reality where magic secretly exists. Kyle Kingsbury was a figure everyone wanted to be, but secretly hates because of his personality. All he sees was everyone’s outer appearances. Because of his own “beauty”, he didn’t give anyone “ugly” a chance to get to know him, or vice versa. He was a character who thinks the world revolves around him, and he shouldn’t have to get to know anybody, everybody needs to know him. This is where the magic comes in. With the beauty he uses to put others down taken away, he could no longer face his previous life. He gets away from everything he’s ever known, to isolate himself until he breaks the curse, or time gets to him. With nearly no hope at all to break the curse, he starts realising beauty in other things he never would’ve paid attention to if the curse didn’t happen. His “beastliness” changed him from a cocky, self-centred person, into a rose-loving, smart, and considerate man. A reality where almost everyone judges everything by its cover, this story shows how there is beauty to everything, but only some people try to get to know it enough to see it. If people only catch a glance of something’s outer appearance, but it fails to impress them and they move on without “digging in deeper”, they would forever miss the goodness in it. And if people are too self-centred to even notice the people and things around them, they would never learn more than what they already know. Everything doesn’t revolve around you, it goes on even when you’re gone. But take how others’ feel about what you do into consideration, so that even when you’re not here anymore, the legacy you leave behind may succeed into people’s hearts.

*Yes, another repeated post, but no. This is a review, not a book talk. And yes, there's a difference. :)
But as a gift.. here's a wallpaper!

Waterfall: Book Review

Reading Waterfall is like going on an emotional roller coaster. You never know what Lauren Kate’s going to throw your way. The sequel to Teardrop, second and the final instalment in the Teardrop duology brings back the story of Eureka’s journey to Atlantis, and countless obstacles that Eureka and her family would encounter in order to prevent the rise of the sunken city. The overall plot of this story is amazing; Eureka having to save the world from the disaster her own tears had brought, and the existence of a forbidden love between Eureka and Ander. Ander, a Seedbearer, whose life purpose is solely to kill Tearline girls such as Eureka, makes the mistake of falling in love with her instead. And like almost every other romance tale, his love for her was reciprocated, with an almost-love at first sight. The mutual attraction between them develops into love in the first book, although at a very short span of time, a few encounters and a moment of truth. In Waterfall, this is seen to develop, although it lacked the chemistry that was implied in the first book. The love triangle that existed between Ander, Eureka, and her long-time best friend who was now lost to the Atlantean King, Brooks, was further expanded, but never really resolved even until the end - which was one of the lesser qualities of the book. Fallen, Lauren Kate’s previous best-selling series, had its main characters’ development progress throughout the entire five-book series, and that built a strong bond in the readers’ minds. Ander and Eureka needed more time to let their relationship build up, because their love seemed to be quite outrageous at times. Ander knew every single detail about Eureka’s life, so his love for her made sense; but when Eureka falls for him too without knowing more than two facts about him, that made the story a little off.

Throughout the story, it could be seen that everything was progressing at an abrupt pace: new characters introduced, quite a few plot twists that included one which a problem was discovered and then resolved itself. Also, I noticed a plot hole that included a warning from Eureka’s late mother in Teardrop which sounded like it was something serious, but never relived itself in Waterfall.
What I could conclude from this is that this second book seemed like it wasn’t supposed to end here; it seemed like it was supposed to end after a third book or further. The last chapters of the book seemed like Lauren Kate was trying to wrap everything up when the publishing company called for the final draft.

When I first read Teardrop, I was really excited for the story to progress into something more, something that was supposed to last long. And although more mysteries were unveiled, plot twists were made, all of them were crammed into one 300-paged book that is mind-boggling to the readers. I am sad to say how disappointed I am with Waterfall. After all, I am a big fan of the Fallen series and thought it was an awesome story with one of the most bittersweet conclusions ever. With Waterfall, it was just bitter. The ending could’ve been more meaningful, because although it was clear it ended, it just had another sense that it’s another cliffhanger, that made no sense at all. But even with all the problems I could list about this book, the original idea of this story is undoubtedly compelling. The new ideas the author had added to the story revived the ancient Atlantis myth and changed old perspectives. It had a great starting point, but ended in a way that was unsatisfying. So all I could say is: Lauren Kate, it could’ve been better.

*Hey guys... Okay. I know, I've posted one book talk about Waterfall before, but here's another one. And it's a review! So, this is a school assignment, and I thought: why let this go to waste? And here's it is guys, hope you know what to expect from Lauren Kate's Waterfall!
Also, a Teardrop wallpaper!

Well, here's the cover:
