Welcome to the Community!

Hey!! Look who's scrolled down to check the welcome text. I'll give a short welcome to you guys, and a couple of 'thank you' s for whatever button you clicked to have ended up here in this little blog of mine. It's nothing professional, but it surely is special! Not for you maybe, but just for your information I've wasted precious time just to make the blog appear decent and pretty in my opinion - not to mention all of the posts you see here! So don't judge before you actually look into things!
I've added a couple of pages just to organize all the things I have in this blog so that you guys have a better time of searching things up rather than having every post of different topics all jumbled up in one single home page.
Yeah, I think I'm done with my welcome text. Without further ado, welcome to my little blog of thoughts.

*You really didn't need to finish everything to start reading stuff here, but I appreciate it if you have. :)

Book Talk: The Titan's Curse (Percy Jackson and the Olympians)

A lot of you've probably heard about this book and also read it. But this book talk is dedicated to those who haven't and are looking for some new creativity or just something to do during the holidays.
Let me just sum this book (or series) up in one word: Awesome.

The cover of 'The Titan's Curse' from the best-selling series Percy Jackson & the Olympians

So here it is! One of my favorite books of all time. The Titan's Curse, like all the Percy Jackson Series novels, centres around the adventures of a teenage boy demigod (or half-blood) and his friends from Camp Half-Blood. This book is the continuation of the second book, Sea of Monsters (the movie is out! Starring Logan Lerman & Alexandra Daddario), which already talked about Thalia's tree (long story) and how it was saved by the Golden Fleece.
Spoiler Alert! Do not continue reading if you don't want to spoil your book!

Percy Jackson was in the middle of saving two half-bloods: Nico di Angelo and Bianca di Angelo when Annabeth, Percy's close friend, got kicked off a cliff along with a monster that was disguised as a principal. Back at camp, another news came up: Artemis, the goddess of the hunt, also went missing when scouting for a dangerous monster. So the point is, a powerful goddess and the brilliant daughter of Athena (goddess of wisdom) went missing. What do you do when people go missing? Find them!

But before leaving, they had to receive insight from the prophecy first:

Five shall go west to the goddess in chains,
One shall be lost in the land without rain,
The bane of Olympus shows the trail,
Campers and Hunters combined prevail,
The Titan's curse must one withstand,
And one shall perish by a parent's hand.

Therefore, Percy and friends (Zoe Nightshade, Bianca, Thalia, Grover) when to search for these two lovely ladies. Along the way Percy had weird dreams (demigods always have weird dreams that foresee the future or the present, get used to it) that showed him how Annabeth was being held hostage in some place where she had to hold up a ceiling - which turned out to be the sky. (Yes, literally, the sky!) Then the dreams that followed along had Artemis in it as well, taking Annabeth's place as the sky-lifter.

After facing some horrible monsters along the way, Zoe Nightshade turned out to be Atlas' daughter (Atlas was the titan that was cursed to lift the sky for eternity - that's the title!). Atlas was planning to slack off from his job and let Artemis do his work. But with the awesome teamwork of them all, they succeeded in defeating Atlas and put him back to his rightful place. Yet, things that are meant to be just needs to happen; even when you don't like it. I will talk about these 'unpleasant' things in the prophecy analysis section below.

Five shall go west to the goddess in chains: that's Percy, Zoe, Bianca, Thalia, and Grover going west to Artemis.

One shall be lost in the land without rain: Bianca got lost (and died) in the gods' junkyard, in the desert.

Campers and Hunters combined prevail: Two from Camp Half-Blood, three from the Hunters of Artemis - they succeeded.

The Titan's curse must one withstand: Percy lifted the sky for sometime during the final fight.

One shall perish by a parent's hand: Zoe was punched by Atlas, her father, and died (also with some poison).

So here it is! Some main ideas from the third book of the Percy Jackson Series. Sorry for skipping the first two books of the series (I haven't read them yet, and not planning to - I don't want to ruin the movie!) Thanks for reading! I hope you enjoy the book as much as I did!

*Educational suggestions: If you're a teenager in an English class, you probably would want to keep track of unfamiliar vocabulary to increase and widen your vocabulary to help with your essay writings in the future!

**I love reading, so I would appreciate it if you would put up any kind of suggestions of good books for me in the comment section below. :) :D God Bless!
